Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont that combined significant assets across Nevada. It creates the single largest gold-producing complex in the world, producing approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold a year. The operation comprises eight mines along with associated infrastructure and processing facilities.

Requirements

Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), Environmental, and NGM policies and procedures
Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations
Haul Truck Operation (mandatory): demonstrate heading inspection, preops, dust suppression, safe muck handling and dumping
Utilities (mandatory)
Teamwork and work practices
Conveyor Operation: perform preops, lock-out/tag-out, monitor operation, clear chutes safely
Water Truck Operation
Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days

Responsibilities

Safely operate various pieces of hand, powered or mobile equipment to meet site production goals
Perform preop inspections on all pieces of equipment and machinery prior to use
Operate haul trucks including proper heading inspections, preoperational checks, dust suppression, safe muck reception and dumping
Operate conveyors following lock-out/tag-out procedures, identifying defects, and clearing plugged chutes safely
Operate water trucks and perform dewatering using sumps/pumps
Handle backfilling, utilities, and nipper duties
Mix backfill (Chukar only) and operate slickline (optional)
