
About this role
The Mining Engineer EDP position rotates through technical and operational roles in Technical Services and Mine Operations. Recent graduates with less than one year experience develop into well-rounded future leaders. Participants plan, track, reconcile, and execute mine plans via field supervision.
In Operations Rotation, supervise Pit Operations, Drill & Blast, and Mine Projects crews to complete plans safely and productively. Technical Rotation provides leadership in Grade Control and direct design in Short-, Mid-, and Long-Range Planning. Engage in Technical Services projects including geotechnical, hydrogeology, and survey.
Work in demanding environments requiring ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse steep berms and muck piles, handle temperature extremes, and hike extended periods. Complete training in environmental awareness and Safety & Health, including MSHA requirements. Focus on safe, productive mine execution.
Undergo promotional review every 18 months with fast track to Engineer III upon successful program completion. Build skills in technical software, time management, attention to detail, and teamwork. Pursue continual improvement and ongoing career learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering
- Desire to be a leader, always do your best, focus on continual improvement, and ongoing career learning
- Excellent computer skills with ability to learn technical software
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, teamwork, and setting ongoing goals
- Able to lift and move 50 pounds occasionally
- Traverse steep areas including berms and muck piles
- Handle temperature extremes
- Walk and hike for extended periods of time
