The Mining Engineering Co-op reports to the Technical Services Manager, assisting day-to-day operations.

This role involves working with Operations and Project Execution teams, field technicians, assayers, and mining and geological engineers. Gain exposure to the construction phase of a fast-paced mining environment. Contribute technical support for surface mining and construction activities while applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Requirements

Active enrolment in an accredited undergraduate program in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology/Earth Sciences
Available for 4 or 8-month work term starting January 2026
Practical understanding of the mining industry and mining processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Familiarity with drill hole data management and analysis
Ability to support field surveying and geological mapping
Experience assisting with assay sample collection and preparation

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to Operations and Execution teams for surface mining and construction activities
Assist engineers with data analysis, monitoring, material balance activities, drawings preparation and review, and other technical deliverables
Load, review, and analyze drill hole data; assist in managing the drill hole database
Identify and report any system or data abnormalities for investigation
Create and maintain accurate daily production reports; prepare and present weekly production reports
Assist with blast-hole assay sample collection and preparation
Support field QA/QC work, field surveying, and geological mapping
Perform productivity simulations and cycle-time studies, advising on forecasted mining and production rates
