Skeena Gold + Silver Limited is a Canadian mining company focused on revitalizing the high-grade Eskay Creek gold-silver mine in northwest British Columbia. The Mining Engineering Co-op reports to the Technical Services Manager, assisting day-to-day operations.

This role involves working with Operations and Project Execution teams, field technicians, assayers, and mining and geological engineers. Gain exposure to the construction phase of a fast-paced mining environment. Contribute technical support for surface mining and construction activities while applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Requirements

  • Active enrolment in an accredited undergraduate program in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology/Earth Sciences
  • Available for 4 or 8-month work term starting January 2026
  • Practical understanding of the mining industry and mining processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with drill hole data management and analysis
  • Ability to support field surveying and geological mapping
  • Experience assisting with assay sample collection and preparation

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Operations and Execution teams for surface mining and construction activities
  • Assist engineers with data analysis, monitoring, material balance activities, drawings preparation and review, and other technical deliverables
  • Load, review, and analyze drill hole data; assist in managing the drill hole database
  • Identify and report any system or data abnormalities for investigation
  • Create and maintain accurate daily production reports; prepare and present weekly production reports
  • Assist with blast-hole assay sample collection and preparation
  • Support field QA/QC work, field surveying, and geological mapping
  • Perform productivity simulations and cycle-time studies, advising on forecasted mining and production rates
