About this role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, the Operations Manager directs and supervises Control Room Operators, Auxiliary Operators, and I&C Technicians. They oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of a 105 MW Combined Cycle Gas facility. This ensures safe, efficient, and reliable energy production consistent with operational and regulatory requirements.
Daily responsibilities include planning, scheduling, directing, and coordinating activities of maintenance and operating personnel for continuity of operations. The role involves training subordinates in best maintenance practices, health, safety, security, environmental compliance, and proper power plant operating techniques. This educates and improves skill levels across the team.
Lead personnel responses to plant emergencies, special safety procedures, and operations-related activities. Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local regulations and Labor agreements. Manage project activities for small to medium maintenance and construction projects, including contract personnel or contractors.
Execute company policies with emphasis on safety and environmental requirements, taking appropriate action. Develop expertise through hands-on supervision in combined cycle gas operations. Advance in a dynamic energy production environment focused on reliability and regulatory adherence.
Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of safe operating procedures, OSHA regulations, company policies, procedures and organization
- Knowledge of combined cycle gas operations, maintenance, construction and environmental regulations
- Working knowledge of effective maintenance planning methodologies, preventive and predictive maintenance practices, troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication and administrative skills
- Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience with large rotating machinery
- 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably including trades personnel and contractors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word and Excel; valid US Driver’s License
